Benjamin Britten's childhood home in Lowestoft is up for sale
It was the composer's family home for more than 20 years
The house in Lowestoft where composer Benjamin Britten was born is up for sale.
21 Kirkley Cliff Road was the 20th century composer's family home for 21 years, and has since been used as a guest house.
The asking price for the 10 bed property, with two reception rooms, is ÂŁ795,000.
Estate agent Hardimans says it's "an opportunity to own a piece of history".
Who was Benjamin Britten?
Described as one of the central figures of 20th century British music, Benjamin Britten was born in Lowestoft in November 1913.
He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and went on to release acclaimed works including opera 'Peter Grimes', 'The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra' and 'The War Requiem'.
In 1948 he founded the annual Aldeburgh Festival, and created the Snape Maltings concert hall in 1967.
He died of heart failure in December 1976, and was buried in Aldeburgh Parish Church's churchyard.
