Ipswich Town striker Ben Morris departs for USA to join Detroit City
The 23 year old has been associated with the Tractor Boys for 16 years
Ipswich Town striker Ben Morris is off to the USA, to join USL Championship side Detroit City on a free transfer.
The 23 year old has been associated with the Tractor Boys for 16 years, initially with the club's academy before moving up to first team football.
He made his debut for the Blues in a League Cup match against Crystal Palace in August 2017, before making apperances in the Championship later that year.
Morris has also been out on loan to Woking, Forest Green and Swedish third-tier side GAIS.
In a statement, bosses at ITFC said:
"His contract was set to expire in the summer however the Blues have agreed to terminate it six months earlier to explore an opportunity within the second tier of football in the United States."
"Ben departs with the best wishes of everyone at the Club."
