Tributes paid to motorcyclist killed in Beccles crash: "A dear friend"
His family say he was a 'beautiful person'
Tributes are being paid to a motorcyclist from Suffolk who died in a crash in Beccles.
58-year-old Stephen McKie, from Ditchingham, died from his injuries after he was hit by a white van whilst riding his motorbike at the junction of the A145 and Cucumber Lane at around 3.30pm on Monday 12 August.
Now, his family and friends are paying tribute to him, remembering him as 'a beautiful person' who will leave a 'void'.
Stephen's daughter Nikita said: "A passion that dad had throughout his life was motorbiking, he loved his motorbikes.
"We take comfort knowing that although he left us too soon it was while doing something he loved."
"Our lives are much better for having him as our friend"
His step-sons Leon and Evan said he'd never be forgotten: "He was a true gentleman.
"So many memories made and shared, gone but never forgotten. There are no words to express what you meant to me, and for being the Dad that you didn't have to be, a beautiful person with a wonderful heart and I miss you so much especially your dinner time farts.
"We may not have been related by blood but you were the best stepdad I could have had."
Stephen's friend Nigel also paid tribute: "A dear friend. Whether you knew des for 2 years or for 30 years I think we all agree that he was the kindest, funniest most wonderful human being ever and we all agree that our lives are much better for having him as our friend."
Another friend, Eddie, echoed those sentiments: "Any body that ever met him will know he was the kindness, friendliest man with a wicked personality...
"He will be missed by so many and can never be replaced ever. There will always be a void in my life without him."
