Investigations continue after gun stolen during Beccles burglary

A school was locked down as a precaution

Suffolk Police tells us investigations are continuing, after a gun was stolen during a burglary in Beccles.

Armed police were called to Rigbourne Hill around 1pm yesterday in response to suspicious activity.

They then received a further call reporting a burglary in progress at an address in the same street.

It was reported that a firearm was stolen during the burglary.

A nearby school, Albert Pye Primary, was locked down as a precaution.

Suffolk Police tells us their officers later seized two air rifles.

No injuries were reported.

At present, no arrests have been made.
