Man bailed in connection with Ipswich house fire that's left two in hospital
Two people are being treated for leg fractures after jumping out of a window
Police investigating an arson attack at a house in Ipswich have released a man on bail.
Officers were called by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service just before 5.20am on Tuesday 13 August to reports of a fire at a premises in Portman Road.
Six people were in the property at the time.
All managed to escape.
Four are uninjured, but two people – a man and a woman – were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation and leg fractures after jumping from an upstairs window.
A further 11 residents were evacuated from neighbouring properties.
Police tell us they're treating the incident as suspicious, with initial enquiries leading officers to believe it was a localised and targeted attack.
A police scene remains in place around property, as investigations continue.
A 24-year-old man from Felixstowe arrested in connection with the incident has now been released on bail until 12th November 2024.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area before the fire.
