Arrest made after church burglaries in East Suffolk

Items were taken from places of worship in Saxstead and Letheringham earlier this year

Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of break-ins at churches in East Suffolk earlier this sumer.

The first took place in Saxstead, on Church Road, where a soundsystem was taken from a church between June 18 and 25.

Another break-in at Saxstead on July 6 saw the attempted theft of an amplifier.

A silver chalice was taken from a church on Pit Road in Letheringham between July 13 and 14.

A man was arrested on September 10 in connection with the incidents and was questioned at Great Yarmouth police station.

He has been bailed until December 2.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
