Witness appeal following arson in Sudbury

Six people were taken to hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fire in Sudbury being treated as arson.

It happened in the stairwell of a block of flats on East Street before 8am on Tuesday (9 March).

The fire was extinguished by 8.30am and six residents were taken to hospital to be checked over.

It's believed to have been started at some point overnight.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting reference 11621/21.
