Police are appealing for information after a theft from a church in rural Suffolk last month.

A brass lecturn was taken from St Gregory’s Church in Hemingstone at some point between 12 and 23 February.

It's thought at least two people were involved in stealing the heavy item from the building in Church Lane, while its thought the thieves were planning to come back for a large brass eagle which was previously on top of the lecturn.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.
