Another bird flu outbreak has been confirmed in a flock of birds in Suffolk.

Cases of the H5N1 strain have been detected amongst around 120 chickens, 20 guinea fowl, 20 geese and a turkey being kept at commericial premises in Stoke By Nayland.

All will now have to be humanely culled in order to contain the virus.

The protection zone in place in Stoke By Nayland

A 3km protection zone has now been put in place around the affected area and local poultry keepers can expect a visit from staff at Suffolk Trading Standards.

The entire county is already under an Avian Influenza Protection Zone.

It means people keeping birds have to take extra measures to keep their flocks safe and prevent the spread of the virus.
