Keepers at Suffolk wildlife park Africa Alive say they're 'devastated' after the death of their lion Zero, at the age of 19.
He was put to sleep last Thursday as he was suffering with heart disease, kidney failure and multiple liver tumours.
Zero was born in 2004 at Woburn Safari Park and moved to the Suffolk coast in 2005.
He was later joined by lioness Mo from West Midland Safari Park. The pair were parents to two litters of cubs, born in 2006 and 2009.
The pride was temporarily moved to Whipsnade Zoo earlier this year after damage to their enclosure caused by Storm Eunice.
The remaining members of the pride; Mo, Tor, Kaya and Jabu, are now being closely monitored by zoo staff.
