Driver in his 20's dies after A14 crash in Rougham

A man has died following a crash that happened in the early hours of this morning on the A14 in Suffolk.

Police were called at 12:25am, Friday 22 December, to reports of a collision on the A14 between junctions 45 and 44.

A yellow Lotus Emira travelling westbound had left the road and collided with a tree.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all in attendance following the crash.

The driver aged in his 20s, died at the scene. A passenger who was also in his 20s sustained injuries not believed to be life threatening and was taken to hospital.

The road was closed while investigations continued, reopening just before 10:20am.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
