Suffolk Mind is urging businesses to prioritise mental health training in 2024, after successfully delivering more than 100 workshops last year. They aim to help individuals make sense of their own mental health and emotional needs.

They hope that by informing employees about well-being, and the impact of sleep and achievement, absences will (be) reduced and work cultures will improve.d

“it’s vital we have an environment where we feel looked after”

Wendy Sheppard, Corporate Relationships Manager from the charity, said:

“Increasing knowledge of mental health and how to support it with confidence is essential within businesses and organisations.

“Many of us spend most of our time at work, so it’s vital we have an environment where we feel looked after.

“The team are proud to have delivered The Essentials workshop to so many people. Not only does it help attendees feel better in themselves, but it also helps increase productivity in the workplace and improve staff retention.”

Suffolk-based marketing agency Crafted took part in one of these workshops last year.

Their People and Culture Manager, Nicole Noble, said that embedding mental health and wellbeing training “right at the start” of staff onboarding prompted a “positive and open culture around mental health”.
