A man from Lowestoft has been sentenced for drug offences.

In September, Peter Bartram of Gondree was pulled over on the A14 in Newmarket. The vehicle was searched by officers and they recovered two blocks of cocaine, totalling two kilogrammes worth and with a street value in the region of £160,000 to £200,000.

Also recovered from the vehicle were two mobile phones. After the arrest, a search of Bartram also found he was in possession of around £500 in cash.

A search was authorised of his home address and a further £3000 in cash was recovered and he was further arrested on suspicion of money laundering. A knuckleduster was also seized from the address.

The 67 year old has been sentenced to three years in jail.
