An 80 year old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious car crash in Coddenham last week.

At around 4pm on Friday - a grey Honda Civic collided with a parked lorry on the A14 - just past the junction with the A140.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

In a statement, Suffolk Police said:

"A grey Honda Civic collided with a lorry that was parked in a layby, resulting in the driver of the car – an 80-year-old man – being flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance."

"The casualty remains in hospital with his condition currently described as critical but stable.

"The A14 was initially closed in both directions, with the westbound carriageway reopening at 6pm and the eastbound fully reopening at 9.20pm.

"Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and are also asking anyone else who was driving in the area just prior to the incident and who has a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for anything that may be of assistance."
