It's been fully modernised

The cardiology clinic at Ipswich Hospital has been transformed into a modern environment in which to work and receive care following a £500,000 facelift.

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT), which runs the hospital, has replaced the ceiling, flooring and doors in clinic G, as well as adding wipe clean cladding to the walls to meet the highest infection control standards.

Special features have also been included to make the unit dementia-friendly, such as colour-coded doors and flooring to help people to find their way.

The project took place in two phases so that staff could continue to see patients throughout and to keep any disruption to a minimum.

Samantha Clarke, principal cardiac physiologist at Ipswich, said:

"We are really pleased with this work, which has really modernised the clinic and made it a nicer place to work and receive care. We hope that our patients like the new look as much as we do."
