17 year old boy arrested after teenage girl stabbed near Saxmundham

The victim was found injured in Benhall early yesterday morning

A 17 year old boy has been arrested after a teenage girl was stabbed in Benhall near Saxmundham yesterday (October 2).

Police were called just after 7am to the junction of Aldecar Lane and Benhall Green, with the girl being taken to Ipswich Hospital with stab wounds and back injuries.

It's believed she was attacked at around 2am, and was left lying the street before being found by a dog walker around 5 hours later.

A teenage boy is being questioned on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

It's believed both victim and suspect are known to each other.

Police are treating it as an isolated incident.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.
