14 year old arrested after teenager attacked with knife in Ipswich

The victim was treated in hospital after being slashed with a blade last night

A 14 year old boy has been arrested after another teenager was attacked with a knife in Ipswich.

Police were called to Marlow Road at around 8:10pm yesterday (August 20), finidng the victim had been slashed across the arm.

A group were seen running away from the scene towards an alleyway near to Westbourne Academy.

THe victim was treated at Ipswich Hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life changing or threatening.

The 14 year old was arrested the same evening on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife or bladed article.

Investigations into the incident continue but police think it was isolated and that victim and suspect are known to one another.

Witnesses, or anyone who captured CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time, are being urged to contact police.
