Norfolk Police thanked fans for showing "good sprit" at the game yesterday

Norfolk Police have thanked fans of Norwich City and Ipswich town for showing good spirit at yesterday's much-anticipated derby.
Over 2,00 travelling Ipswich fans were among the 27,000 in attendance at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Norfolk Constabulary said that the policing operation for the game had taken months of planning, with the aim of "keeping people safe and helping fans to travel to and from the stadium safely"
Officers from Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and the British Transport and Norfolk Fire & Rescue were among the emergency services in attendance.
Police cordons were in place at the end of the game to ensure the same movement of supporters on their journeys home.
Match-day policing commander, Superintendent Kris Barnard said: "I’d like to thank everybody at Carrow Road this afternoon. We know this match means a great deal to both sets of fans who want to show their support and get behind their team, and I’m pleased that they did that with good spirits and humour.
"We always said our policing approach would be friendly and fair and our focus was on those people whose behaviour spoils the enjoyment or safety of others. I want to thank everybody for their understanding and cooperation."
In total, 11 people were arrested before, during and after the match for a number of offences including criminal damage, throwing an object, Antisocial behaviour and letting off a smoke device.
