Always makes my heart melt!"

Where is Jenny Powell now?

Jenny has certainly had an incredible career to date, and you can hear her presenting on Greatest Hits Radio’s The Breakfast Club, at the weekend, every Saturday and Sunday between 6am and 9am.

Outside of this she also keeps busy, telling us: "I have a parenting podcast, The Hotmessmums. I host all kinds of events and festivals throughout the year plus I'm a full-on Mum of two to Pollyanna (14yrs) and Connie (21yrs)."

How different is presenting on radio compared to TV?

We asked Jenny this, and she said: "It's a whole different skill and a real refreshing change for me. I feel that radio presenting is a far more personal thing and I feel more connected to my audience in radio.

"It's also great not having to worry about washing my hair!"

What TV shows has Jenny Powell been on?

Jenny began her TV career in 1986 when she hosted BBC2 programme No Limits, and as well as presenting on numerous shows she has made a number of guest appearances over the years.

In the late 80s and early 90s, she went on to present a few different children's Saturday morning television programmes including UP2U, Ghost Train and Gimme 5.

Many listeners will recognise Jenny from Wheel of Fortune, which she starred in from 1995-2000. She later joined ITV show Celebrity Wrestling, which was hosted by Kate Thornton and Rowdy Roddy Piper, where Jenny competed under the name The Avenger.

Jenny appeared on Celebrity Come Dine With Me in 2010, and also competed in Celebrity Masterchef. She then acted in several episodes of comedy show Lemon La Vida Loca in 2012 and did a celebrity special of talent show Stars in Their Eyes.

More recently, she has been a regular on Loose Women, a commentator on Bigheads and appeared on Celebrity Catchphrase.

Jenny made her debut film appearance in 1999 film 8mm, and also appeared in The Big Menarski in 2000.

I think it is that sense of camaraderie, it's the end of the day, people want to be cheered up and they want to spend some time with some decent folk on the radio!"

Paul Gambaccini

Paul brings us his famous America's Greatest Hits programme every Saturday between 5pm-7pm, featuring two hours of the Greatest Hits that made it big in America.


Sharing some of the things he loves about his show, Paul said: "Radio is the perfect form of one-to-one communication. TV can be direct, too, but the camera operator is always in your line of vision! I enjoy sharing my favourite music, and my admittedly freakish knowledge of it, with people who care about that music. I love the opportunity for challenging talk overs, too!"
