Four charged after serious assault in Winsford

Police charge four people following January stabbing incident

Four people have been charged in connection with a serious assault at a property in Winsford earlier this year.

At around 5.10pm on Sunday, 14th January 2024, officers were called to reports of a man with serious injuries at an address on Wharton Gardens.

Police found a 20-year-old man who had been stabbed. He was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital for treatment and has since made a full recovery.

Seven people were initially arrested in connection with the incident. After a detailed investigation, detectives have now charged four people with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.

Those charged are:

  • Ellis Webb, 20, of Baywillow Close, Winsford
  • Catherine Clare, 33, of Middlewich Street, Crewe
  • Luke Kirton, 20, of Esk Road, Winsford
  • Connor Baldwin, 18, of Dee Way, Winsford

All four defendants have been bailed and are set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court. Webb is due to appear on Friday, 21st November, while Clare, Kirton and Baldwin are scheduled to appear on Friday, 12th December.
