Woman fighting for her life after two-vehicle crash in Staffordshire

Police are urging people not to speculate while investigations continue

Officers from Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information following a serious collision which occurred between Rocester and Uttoxeter.

At 12:52pm yesterday (Monday 18 October), police received reports of a road traffic collision on the B5030. The collision involved a silver Peugeot and a grey Seat saloon. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident.

A woman in her late 20s was treated at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance Service for serious injuries and was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital. She remains in critical condition.

A man in his late 40s was also admitted to hospital after suffering injuries at the scene, but is now believed to be in stable condition.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Witnesses who may have seen the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 305 of 18 October or call 101. Alternatively, email the team direct at ciu@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk

"We would remind people not to speculate as to the cause of the collision or comment inappropriately as this is a live on-going police investigation."
