Two people have been arrested after a man was shot in the leg in Stoke-on-Trent.

It happened in Dawlish Drive, Bucknall, just before 4pm on Wednesday (30 August).

The victim, a man in his 40s, was found with injuries at the scene and taken to hospital by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

He remains in hospital today (1 September) and isn’t believed to have any life-threatening injuries.

A 26-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are being questioned in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bryan, from CID, said:

“Officers are continuing to work through a number of lines of enquiry as part of this investigation – which has understandably caused concern in the local community.

“We would like to reiterate that this was an isolated incident and we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public at this time.

“I’d like to thank those who have already come forward with information and I’d urge anyone who hasn’t gotten in touch already to do so if you have any information which could help us.”
