Two dead after two-vehicle crash in Staffordshire
A man and a woman have also been left seriously injured
Police are appealing for information after two people died and two others were seriously injured following a collision near Stone yesterday (Sunday 16 January).
Police were called at 4.45pm on Sunday to The Fillybrooks on the A34 after reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Officers attended and a grey Ford Grand C-Max and a black Mercedes AMG A were found in collision.
A 73-year-man and a 74-year-old woman, who were travelling in the Ford, were conveyed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old girl, also in the vehicle, was uninjured.
A 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, travelling in the Mercedes, sustained serious injuries and were conveyed to hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.
Sadly, the man and the woman in their 70s both died in hospital in the early hours of Monday (17 January).
Their next of kin has been informed and the deceased’s family are being supported by specially-trained officers.
Formal identification will take place in due course and a file will shortly be prepared for HM Coroner.
