Tributes to "kind, beloved father" killed in Staffordshire Christmas Eve crash
62-year-old Charalambos Nicolaou was killed on Uttoxeter Road in Draycott-in-the-moors
The family of a man who died in a crash in Staffordshire on Christmas Eve say he was an amazing and kind hearted person.
62-year-old Charalambos Nicolaou was killed on Uttoxeter Road in Draycott-in-the-moors when a Vauxhall Vectra and Hyundai collided.
In a tribute, Charalambos’s daughter said: “My beloved father was killed the day before Christmas. He was an amazing father, brother and a kind-hearted person that everyone loved. He was my whole world especially after my mother's death years ago. My father did not deserve to leave this world the way he did.
"He was taken away from me in a horrible way. Me and my family are devastated from the incident and wished my dad was still here with us. Christmas is now ruined and will never feel great again. If there is anyone that might have seen anything or has cameras that could help us find justice for my wonderful dad please contact the police.”
Mark Plimmer, 27, of Blythe Bridge, is due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 29 January after being charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He was also charged with failing to stop after a road accident, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Anyone who saw what happened or those with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time are asked to get in touch.
