The Conservative Party has retained its control of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council.
Voters took to the polls in the area on Thursday to decide who they wanted to run their local authority.
The final results for Newcastle Borough Council are as follows:
- Conservatives: 25
- Labour: 19 seats
The council is now only made up of Conservative and Labour councillors, after two Liberal Democrat and one independent councillor lost their seats.
The Tories managed to gain two more seats which were both from the Liberal Democrats, who've now been completely wiped out from the local authority.
In Kidsgrove - which is part of the Newcastle-under-Lyme borough - all three seats are now represented by the Conservatives.
Johnathan Gullis, MP for Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke said: "It's a fantastic result for all three to go Conservative at this election despite a very challenging national backdrop, but what was clear on the doorsteps was that people are so pleased to hear that the sports centre in Kidsgrove was being refurbished and reopened, that we've invested in that fantastic pump track, and they're excited about new job opportunities
"I just genuinely thank all the people from Kidsgrove and Ravenscliffe because I know there will have been some people pinching their noses yesterday when they were voting for us, because they may not be happy about what's happening down in Westminster, they will have concerns about the cost of living, and all I can say is thank you for giving your trust in us.
"We know it's a lent vote, we'll take it very seriously, and we're fully aware that if we don't deliver, we'll get sacked."
Elsewhere in Staffordshire, elections also took place in Cannock Chase and Tamworth.
