Three more arrests in Normacot murder investigation
Five men have already been charged in connection with the death of Thapelo Jali in July
Police have arrested three more men as part of an investigation into the death of a man in Normacot, Stoke-on-Trent.
Thapelo Jali, 21, died on 22 July in Normacot after being found in an alleyway off Buccleuch Road with serious injuries.
So far five men have been charged with murder. This morning police carried out a number of searches alongside firearms officers in the Normacot area.
A 35-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 62-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 27-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has also been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of murder.
Detective Inspector Ian Fitzgerald, from our major investigations department (MID), said: “We’re continuing to work tirelessly to review all the evidence we have to act against those responsible for what happened.
“An increased police presence is expected to remain in the area throughout today while our enquiries continue.”
