Man jailed for multiple child sex offences in Staffordshire
28-year-old Thomas Green has been sentenced to 14 years in prison
A Newcastle-under-Lyme man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for multiple child sex offences.
28-year-old Thomas Green pleaded guilty to:
- two charges of rape of a child under 16
- one count of sexual activity with a child under 16
- one count of breaching a restraining order
Green was sentenced to 14 years in prison with an extended license period of three years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
He was also made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The judge said that Green was 'especially dangerous', which is why he's been given an extended license.
Detective Constable Katy Jones, who worked on the case, said: “I am pleased that we’ve been able to secure this outcome against a sex offender who committed crimes against a child in our community.
“The victim has shown enormous strength in reporting what Green did.
“I would urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual offences to report it to us. You will be listened to and supported by specially trained officers, who will do everything in their power to see that justice is done.”
