Teenager charged over disorder in Tamworth

A 16-year-old who can't be named has been charged with violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker

A teenage boy has been charged by police investigating disorder in Tamworth on Sunday.

A 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, from Tamworth, has been charged with violent disorder and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 7 August).

Meanwhile, three more arrests have been made as part of the ongoing investigation.

A 28-year-old and a 43-year-old, both of Tamworth, have both been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. A 37-year-old man, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. All remain in custody.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said : "Using our own surveillance, as well as a vast array of videos that have been shared on social media, we’re continuing to trawl rigorously through the evidence to take robust action against those involved.
