Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl died in a crash in Uttoxeter.

It happened yesterday afternoon (12 August) - when police were called to Ashbourne Road (the B5030) at around 2.45pm after two cars collided.

Officers went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. The road was closed for a number of hours whilst emergency services worked at the scene.

A passenger of one of the cars, a teenage girl, was found with serious injuries. Sadly, she died at the scene. The driver of the same car was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The driver of the other car was taken to hospital with abdominal and knee injuries.

Anyone with any information is being urged to get in touch with officers.
