Teenage boy robbed and kicked repeatedly in Hanley

Officers are appealing for information after a 17-year-old boy was robbed in Hanley earlier today.

Police were called at 5.32am on Wednesday (21 July) to Botany Bay Road in Hanley following reports of a robbery.

Officers attended and found a teenager with injuries to his face, legs and feet.

The victim reported having his phone, shoes and wallet stolen by two men at around 2am.

The offenders are described as white, wearing black puffa jackets and black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe down the side.

They reportedly hit the victim on the head from behind and after he fell to the ground, stole his grey and black Under Armour trainers, his IPhone 6 which was in a red case and his wallet containing bank cards and around £25 in cash.

The offenders also kicked the victim while he was on the ground before running away in the direction of Northwood.

The victim was conveyed to hospital by attending officers.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and urge anyone with information to contact them.
