Alex Matthewson was witnessed by officers taking part in the drug deal on Greengate Street in Stafford in September 2019. Officers called a number held as part of their intelligence, and watched as he answered it in front of their eyes.

He was arrested by officers, charged, and appeared in court yesterday (31/05) charged with supplying heroin, making an offer to supply heroin and making an offer to supply class B drugs.

The 25 year old has been sentenced to three years and two months in prison.

Sergeant Thomas Fotherby, the officer in charge of the case, said: “This is another case where proactive officers have succeeded in taking another drug dealer off our streets.

“We are continuing to investigate the supply of drugs within our communities and remain dedicated to stopping those spreading these substances in our area.”
