Stoke-on-Trent man banned from all football matches for five years
The 20-year-old's behaviour was described as 'unacceptable' by police
A man from Stoke-on-Trent has been banned from attending any regulated football match, including internationals, for the next five years due to his behaviour at Stoke City fixtures.
Jack Heath, 20, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been banned from attending football matches for the next five years following 'persistent unacceptable behaviour' at both home and away fixtures in recent years.
At North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Wednesday (2 February), evidence found by Staffordshire Police’s Football Policing Unit of Heath’s unacceptable behaviour was presented to the court.
Following a successful application from the Unit, Heath was given a five-year football banning order.
The order prevents Heath from attending all football fixtures with a geographical exclusion zone. This prevents him from associating on matchdays with other Stoke supporters.
Heath will also have to surrender his passport when England play away fixtures and is prevented from attending England home fixtures.
PC Ben Greensides, from Staffordshire Police's Football Policing Unit, said: "We welcome the outcome and hope this sends a strong message that this sort of behaviour at football matches will not be tolerated. Incidents of poor behaviour will be investigated and those seeking to ruin match days for genuine supporters will face such consequences.”
