Six arrests made after stabbing in Meir

Six boys have been arrested after a teenage boy was stabbed in Meir.

Officers were called to an address off Sandon Road just after 6.20pm on Thursday (19 January) along with colleagues from the ambulance service.

The victim, a 15-year-old boy, sustained facial and leg injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

He remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A 16-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.

Another 16-year-old, two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old, all from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

A 17-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

All six remain in custody and inquiries are ongoing.

Staffordshire Police have appealed for information.
