Couple who stabbed, shot and robbed a woman in Stoke jailed

A man and a woman have been jailed after a woman was assaulted, stabbed and robbed in Shelton.

Staffordshire Police stated that Stephanie Emily Bartlett, 25, of Longshaw Street, Longport, Stoke-on-Trent, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment on Monday (9 January) at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court after she pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm on 9 May 2022.

Kevin Leslie Davies, 35, of Hesketh Avenue, Ball Green, was sentenced to eight years at the same court today after he pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an imitation firearm.

Police told us that during the evening of 14 November 2021, the victim visited an address on Norfolk Street, Shelton. Bartlett and Davies, who were in a relationship at the time, attacked the victim.

The victim was punched and kicked made to remove her jewellery and hand it over. Her handbag was emptied and her purse, mobile phone, cash and jewellery were stolen.

She was stabbed to twice, once to the shoulder and once to the leg. The victim was also shot with metal pellets numerous times. Most of the pellets have been surgically removed but some are still lodged under the skin. She also had broken bones in both hands.

Bartlett was arrested on 21 November 2021 and she was wearing some of the victim’s jewellery.

Davies was arrested on 20 December 2021 after he was located in Swindon.

DC Lorraine Butler, the officer in the case, of CID North, said: “This was a completely unwarranted level of violence against the victim with long-lasting injuries.

“The sentences handed down by the judge reflect the seriousness of their offending.”
