Man charged after false bomb threat reported at Royal Stoke Hospital

A man has been charged with falsely reporting a bomb threat at the Royal Stoke Hospital.

Police were called just before 6am yesterday morning - armed police were deployed and a cordon was put in place.

39-year-old Bestud Saied, from Burslem, has been charged with communicating information to hospital staff which he knew or believed to be false.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "A 39-year-old man will appear before magistrates today (July 27) charged with falsely reporting a bomb threat at the Royal Stoke Hospital.

"Bestun Saied, of Burslem, will appear at magistrates’ court in Newcastle-under-Lyme charged with communicating information to hospital staff which he knew or believed to be false, with the intention of inducing a false belief that a bomb was present in Royal Stoke Hospital.

"The alleged offence took place yesterday (July 26)."
