Residents in Leek have expressed their gratitude to officers and housing providers after a flat in Eagle Mill, Shoobridge Street was repossessed due to persistent anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity.

Staffordshire Police secured a closure order for the flat in July 2025, and yesterday, 18th December, Your Housing Group was granted full possession of the property through partnership efforts.

Residents said the move has made the community feel safer, with one person describing it as “a job very well done.”

“A big thank you for the work done and all the effort in getting the closure order,” one resident said. “This has made the community feel a lot better and a safer place to live.”

PC Naomi Kramarczyk, Problem Solving Lead for the Staffordshire Moorlands local policing team, highlighted the focus on addressing community concerns:

“We worked closely with local housing providers to secure a closure order at this address, but we didn’t stop there.

We carefully considered the concerns of local residents and the property was eventually repossessed, meaning it can go to someone else.

I hope this shows our ongoing commitment to protecting residents and tackling the issues that matter most to local people.

I am so pleased that local residents feel safer following this outcome and we will continue to work hard to protect communities across Staffordshire.”

The repossession reflects continued efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour and improve quality of life for local residents.
