Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after fatal collision near Crewe

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving after a fatal collision near Crewe.

He has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

At around 11.20pm on Friday (31 March), officers were called to reports of a collision on the A534 Haslington Bypass.

When police attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a white BMW M2 and a small motorcycle which was travelling towards Crewe.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 29-year-old man from Crewe, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital- where he later past away.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and video footage following a fatal collision in Haslington, near Crewe.
