Six arrests made as emergency services deal with "incident" in Knutsford

Officers say its after unknown substances were found at an address this morning

Five people have been arrested following the discovery of a number of "unknown substances" in a property in Knutsford.

Police were carrying out a raid at the property in the Longridge area at around 7 o'clock this morning, when they had to call in the bomb squad.

A 100 meter cordon has been put in place as a precaution, and fire and ambulance crews are also in attendance.

In an update, the force said:

"At around 7am today, Monday 27 November, Officers from Cheshire Police conducted a warrant in the Longridge area.

"The five men, aged 23, 24, 24, 29 and 58, along with a 22-year-old woman, are all in police custody at this time.

"EOD are also in attendence to help establish the nature of the substances found.

"A reception centre for local residents has been set up at Knutsford Leisure Centre.

"Further details will be provided when available."
