Police name man who died after being found injured in Blurton

The force has also referred the matter to the Office for Police Conduct

A man who died after he was found injured at a flat in Blurton has been named by Staffordshire Police.

Lee Jones, 49, of Silverdale, was found with injuries inside a property on Garsdale Crescent on Thursday 28 September. He was taken to hospital by ambulance but he sadly died in hospital the next day (Friday 29 September).

A 30-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, who was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent at the flat was further arrested on suspicion of murder after Lee’s death. She was released on conditional bail while officers continue to investigate.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to recent police contact.
