Police say investigations are continuing after two people were found dead at a property in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emergency services were called to Catalina Place, Meir Park, at 2pm on Saturday after the bodies of two people were found.

The man and woman, aged in their 70s, were pronounced dead a short time later.

Their family are being supported by specially trained officers.

In an updated statement, Staffordshire Police said: "We would like to reassure the community that we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this tragic incident.

"A scene remains at the house to explore forensic opportunities. Post-mortems will take place later this week. "

Officers are also continuing to carry out house-to-house enquiries in the area, and say that people will see an increased police presence over the next few days.
