Police arrest a man following a fire in Stoke
The blaze broke out in the early hours
A man has been arrested following a house fire in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were called to an address near King Street just before 1.30am this morning (Monday 14 November) following reports of a blaze.
Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and ensured the property was safe whilst the evacuation of adjoining buildings also took place.
Two children and a woman were assessed by paramedics at the scene and were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police say that a 22-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
