Police appeal for car enthusiast witnesses after fatal crash near Trentham Gardens

Police are appealing to speak to a number of witnesses, including car enthusiasts, who may have witnessed a fatal crash near Trentham Gardens.

Emergency services were called to the A34 southbound at 8.30pm on Saturday night after a crash between a BMW estate and a Renault Clio.

A 21-year-old man, who was driving the BMW, died at the scene. Two other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say they now want to speak to a number of car enthusiasts who were in a layby area at the time, who may hold "vital information" about the crash.

Officers also want to trace the rider of a dark coloured sports type motorcycle who may have been in the vicinity of the collision when it occurred.
