Police appeal for information following Congleton assault
It happened at Bromley Road
At 7.23pm on Monday 20 February police were called to Bromley Road in Congleton following reports of an assault in the street.
Officers attended the scene and found a 30-year-old man had been assaulted by two men.
The victim was subsequently taken to hospital with injuries believed to have been caused by a knife or machete. Officers closed the road whilst investigations have been taking place.
Detective Inspector Vicki Shelton said:
“Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing we are doing all we can to ensure the people responsible are held accountable.
“At this stage it is believed to have been a targeted incident and one man has already been arrested.
“Patrols have also been stepped up in the local area to provide reassurance.”
A 26-year-old-man from Congleton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
