Police appeal following serious assault in Crewe

Two arrests have now been made

Police investigating a serious assault in Crewe are appealing for witnesses or those with CCTV and video footage to get in touch.

At around 6.40pm yesterday (Sunday 13 August), officers received reports of a fight outside The Raven public house, near to Brookhouse Drive and Davenport Avenue.

During the incident, a 44-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his head and arm and was taken to hospital via air ambulance.

Superintendent Claire Jesson said:

“We understand the concern this incident is likely to have caused, but we would like to reassure the public that we are doing all we can to establish what took place.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area and we would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to an officer.

“As part of our enquiries, we would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with us.

“We’re also asking anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us if they saw anything suspicious which could aid our investigation.

“The same goes for those with any CCTV, dashcam, or Ring doorbell footage."

A 45-year-old man from Crewe has since been arrested on suspicion of affray in relation to the incident.

A second individual - a 44-year-old man from Crewe, has also been arrested.
