Officers are appealing for information after two men were dragged from a car before being assaulted and robbed by a group of males in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called shortly after 9.30pm yesterday (Monday 1 August) to the Snow Hill area following reports of violence.

The victims, men in their late teens and early 20s, reported being approached by a group of men who used a hammer to smash the windows of their black BMW before pulling them out of the car and assaulting them.

The offenders also stole a quantity of cash from the victims.

The suspects are described as Asian, wearing dark clothing and were travelling in a black Ford vehicle.

The injured men were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A 19-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested a short time later on suspicion of robbery.

He remains in police custody while inquiries continue.

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time is asked to get in touch.
