Perton murder: Two men arrested on suspicion of murder

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the burnt body of a woman was found in a lay-by in Staffordshire.

Jomaa Jerrare was discovered by officers in the early hours of Monday morning in Perton at a lay-by on Bridgnorth Road.

The pair, who are 56 and 76, remain in custody.

The 56-year-old victim was identified by police yesterday (12th August), but her cause of death is still under investigation.

Previously a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but was released without further action.

Detective Superintendent Tom Chisholm, of Staffordshire Police, said:

"This is a shocking and dreadful incident and our team of detectives is working tirelessly to establish what has happened and bring those responsible to justice."
