Pedestrian in 'critical condition' after collision in the Staffordshire Moorlands

Police are appealing for information following a collision involving a black Seat Mii and a pedestrian in the Staffordshire Moorlands. 

Officers were called to Leek Road, Moorville, just after 9.40pm yesterday (Tuesday). 

Crews from Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service and Highways attended. 

The road was closed at 9.45pm. 

The pedestrian, an 18-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment having sustained facial, head and leg injuries. 

She remains in a critical but stable condition.  

The driver of the Seat, a man in his 50s, remained at the scene and assisted officers with inquiries. 

The road was reopened at 3.20am this morning (Wednesday). 

Officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking anyone who saw the collision or those with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.
