Overnight closures affecting the A50 and A500

Essential maintenance work is being carried out on the A50 and A500 in Stoke-on-Trent this week which will see some overnight road closures.

National Highways is carrying out resurfacing work, bridge joint repairs and renewing road markings.

Each night this week, Monday to Friday, the westbound carriageway of the A50 will be closed between Heron Cross roundabout and A500 Queensway junction from 9pm to 6am.

In addition, the eastbound carriageway will be closed between the A500 Queensway to the Trentham Road Interchange at Longton tonight (27 march), tomorrow, Wednesday (29 March), Saturday (1 April) and Sunday between 9pm and 6am.

The eastbound entry slip road at the A50 Trentham Road Interchange will also be closed on Saturday and Sunday night.

Meanwhile on the A500, tonight (27 March) the southbound carriageway will be fully closed between M6 junction 16 and Talke Interchange for the re-installation of the traffic loops on the carriageway.

On Thursday and Friday this week, the southern section of Sideway roundabout at A500 Queensway will also be closed for bridge joint maintenance.
