One dead and two injured following Staffordshire Moorlands crash

A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene

Officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a man sadly lost his life in a collision in Kingsley Moor this morning (Sunday 19 September).

Police were called to the A52 Leek Road near to Blakely Farm Kennels at 12.45am, following a single-vehicle collision involving a grey Land Rover.

A passenger in the car, a local man aged 35, suffered serious injuries and, despite the efforts of medical staff, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this time.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to hospital with back injuries.

A further passenger, a 20-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with back injuries.

Both continue to receive treatment for their injuries at this time.

Staffordshire Police are urging people not to speculate as to the cause of the collision or comment inappropriately as this is a live on-going police investigation.
