New community grants open for applications in Staffordshire Moorlands

Community groups across the Staffordshire Moorlands are being encouraged to apply for funding opportunities launched by District Council

Community grants across the Staffordshire Moorlands aims to build stronger communities in the region.

A combined total of £190,000 is now available through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

The grant aims to support initiatives that build stronger and more inclusive communities- key priorities under the government's broader prosperity programme.

Councillor Mike Gledhill, Leader of the Council and Chair of the funding board, said the new schemes are designed to directly support grassroots projects:

"We want to see the Moorlands flourish as a vibrant, welcoming place where people are proud to live, work and visit."

Two funding streams are now open for applications:

  • Community Infrastructure Capital Grant- Offers up to £10,000 for projects that invest in local infrastructure to strengthen community ties.
  • Arts and Events Grant- Provides up to £3,000 for arts, cultural, or heritage activities that encourage community involvement and volunteering.

Applications are welcome from a range of local organisations. including town and parish councils.
